One of our biggest challenges is to access funding so that we can continue to heavily subsidise the cost of the programme to families. Our aim is to have a minimum of £10,000 in place by our AGM in September so that we can plan the following winter’s programme with confidence. We do this through a combination of small scale fundraising in the local schools and community, donations from local groups and businesses and applying for funds from larger grant making organisations and trusts.
In 2010 we were supported by the Cairngorms National Park Leader Fund along with Sportsmatch which gave us some security over a three year period. For 2013 the Skiers Trust and The North Face Explore Fund were our main funders through generous grants along with other smaller donations from local groups, especially Badenoch & Strathspey Sports Council and The Hilton Community Foundation who have supported us regularly for many years.
Other past contributors to the programme have been The Highland Council, The Fuchs Educational Trust, Snowsport Scotland, and many local businesses through donations and holding collection boxes for BSSSA. We would like to thank them all for supporting this great project.
We are busy sourcing funding for the 2018 programme and welcome any offers of donations or sponsorship – please contact Kerrie at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss.
